Plitvice Lakes are the oldest National Park in south-eastern Europe. The national park was founded in 1949 and is situated in the mountainous karst area on the Central Coratia, at the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the most beautiful National Park in Croatia, because of its nature and enviroment.

In 1979 the Plivice Lakes was added to UNESVO world Heritage register among the first natural site worldwide. Each year, more than 1,200,000 visitors are recorded. The Plitvice Lakes consist from 16 lakes (12 upper lakes and 4 lower), and waterfalls.
